This role will work with the Directorate of Staff Development, Schools Education Department, Punjab, to review the directorate’s teacher training methodology and implement recommendations for improvement
Skills, qualifications and experience
VSO is seeking an enthusiastic individual with experience in the field of training. We would particularly be interested in receiving applications from those who have experience of teacher training. However, we would also be interested in candidates with experience from the private or non-government sector who can strongly demonstrate their ability to apply their knowledge to a different context.
Directorate of Staff Development (DSD), Schools Education Department, Government of Punjab
DSD is the directorate responsible for enhancing the quality of teaching in Punjab province through providing continuous professional development for teachers. It runs a range of professional development services including in-service training courses and mentoring opportunities across the 36 districts of Punjab province.
The DSD’s Vision is :
To develop a knowledgeable, committed, motivated, competent and ethically sound cadre of education personnel to ensure the delivery of top quality education to the students in government schools of Punjab
The DSD’s Mission is :
To establish a system of professional development for teachers and education personnel for enhancing the quality of learning in the government schools of Punjab.
The DSD is divided into four teams (1) Management – responsible for planning, monitoring and evaluation, (2) Academics – responsible for leading professional development course design and implementation, (3) Field – responsible for managing professional development programmes across Punjab and (4) Research – responsible for data collection and analysis. This role will cut across all four teams but line managed by the academic team.
